Job Description:
Leads and mentors nursing staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment. Coordinates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective communication. Monitors patient care quality and safety, implementing improvements as needed. Participates in strategic planning and decision-making processes to align nursing goals with organizational objectives. Represents the nursing department in meetings and on committees, advocating for nursing staff and patient care needs. Develops and maintains relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and professional organizations. Develops and implements nursing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality patient care. Oversees the recruitment, training, and retention of nursing staff to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce. Manages the nursing department budget, including staffing costs and resource allocation, to ensure financial efficiency. Collaborates with other healthcare leaders to develop and implement patient care strategies and improve overall healthcare delivery. Conducts performance evaluations, provides feedback, and addresses any performance issues or conflicts among nursing staff. Other duties as assigned. Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies within the nursing department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing [Required] • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required] • Basic computer skills, including experience with an Electronic Health Record [Required] • Cerner documentation [Preferred]
Education: • Associate's of Nursing [Required] • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
